About the bill: This edition of the five dollar bill was based on a photo taken in 1958 by George Hunter of fishing boat BCP45, operated by Skipper Mel Assu and crew members Andy Dick, Fred Seville, Ron Forrest, Allen (Ollie) Chickite and Allan Mearns. Hunter once said "A country without appreciation of its heritage is not a country.” The boat resides today, completely restored, at the Martime Heritage Centre in Campbell River, BC.
